My independent study utilized the novel inactivation method Daun02 to turn off GHSR expressing neurons in the VTA and hypothalamus of male mice in order to further investigate ghrelin’s role in food intake and body weight. Currently I am working on my thesis project, which is investigating the impact of a GHSR KO model on male sexual behaviour. It will also observe the effects of fasted vs ad lib GHSR KO and WT animals on sexual behaviour. In general, I am interested in ghrelin’s role in modulating motivated behaviours.
